Safety cushions - the general information

All models considered in the present manual are equipped with system of additional safety (SRS) better known under the name of safety cushions. The obligatory complete set included two safety cushions. The system provides additional protection of the driver and forward passenger of the car at strong front blow.

The system consists of the SRS block with switched on in it by the sensor of the directed overloads, the control sensor, a contour of self-diagnostics and a contour of feedback. The block is located under the dashboard, directly ahead of the central console. Sensors of the directed overloads and modules of safety cushions are built in in the central part of a steering wheel and the right part of the dashboard of the car (directly over a ware box).

Principle of functioning

Necessary condition of activation of safety cushions is operation of sensors of the directed overloads and the control sensor. Operation of sensors leads to short circuit of a chain of modules and instant filling of pillows with gas. In case of failure of the battery operation of pillows happens due to the energy developed by the feedback knot which is built in in the SRS block.

System of self-diagnostics of refusals of SRS

The system of self-diagnostics of SRS makes inclusion of a control lamp on an instrument guard of the car at turn of the ignition key in the situation ON. If the system does not find any deviations, the lamp has to go out about 6 seconds later. If shutdown of a control lamp does not happen, or the lamp works during the movement of the car, therefore, in SRS system malfunction is found. For check of system and elimination of a cause of failure the car should be driven away on car repair shop.

Service of the knots located close the SRS components

In case of need removals of a steering wheel, or carrying out service of the radio receiver or another, located near the dashboard components try not to allow rassoyedineniye of electric sockets of a chain of SRS. Do not connect any diagnostic equipment to SRS chain at all. AT SERVICE of the SAFETY CUSHIONS of ALL COMPONENTS LOCATED CLOSE ALWAYS PREVIOUSLY DISCONNECT SRS. Remark: It is easy to distinguish an electrical wiring of a chain of SRS on bright yellow color of isolation.

Shutdown of SRS system

The SRS system has to be disconnected every time when performing procedures of service of the safety cushions of components located close!

Disconnect from the battery at first a negative wire, then positive.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

Driver's safety cushion

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Uncover access, located under the safety cushion module, then disunite the 2-contact socket of an electrical wiring between a safety cushion and the cable reel (see the Head Podvesk and a steering).

Passenger safety cushion

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove a ware box (see the Head Kuzov).

2. Disunite the 2-contact electric socket located between the module of a passenger safety cushion and the main plait of an electrical wiring of SRS.

Activation of SRS system

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. To put into operation SRS system after its shutdown (for the purpose of performance of procedures of service of any components), connect a safety cushion module electrical wiring to the 2-contact socket of the cable drum/main thing of a plait. Establish into place a cover / a ware box.
2. Switch off ignition.
3. Connect the battery (at first a positive wire, then negative).

Driver's safety cushion

1. The description of procedures of removal and installation of the module of a driver's safety cushion is provided in the Head Podvesk and a steering.

Passenger safety cushion

2. Disconnect from the battery at first a negative wire, then positive.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

3. Disconnect SRS system.

4. The description of procedure of removal of the module of a driver's safety cushion is provided in the Head Podvesk and a steering.

5. For removal of a passenger safety cushion turn out two fixing screws (see an accompanying illustration).
6. Installation is made upside-down. Do not forget to make activation of system.
