Check of a state and replacement of the sensor

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

See preventions at the beginning of the Section Dropping Pressure in a power supply system.

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

Slee the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. Take from a tank assembly of a gasoline pump with the fuel consumption sensor (see the Section Removal and installation of the fuel pump).

3. By means of an ohmmeter measure resistance between assembly socket plugs.

It is necessary to choose the range of measurement of an ohmmeter in 200 Ohms. Write down indications of the measuring instrument in two extreme provisions of a float of assembly of the sensor of fuel consumption. Change of resistance has to happen to movement of a float evenly, without breakthroughs and delays.

4. At an empty tank (the lower provision of a float) resistance of the sensor has to make 105 ÷ 107 Ohm.
5. In the top provision of a float of the indication of an ohmmeter have to make 3 ÷ 5 Ohm.
6. At negative results of the check described above replace the fuel consumption sensor.

REPLACEMENT

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. Take from a tank assembly of the gasoline pump/sensor of fuel consumption (see the Section Removal and installation of the fuel pump).

3. Disconnect a fuel consumption sensor block electrical wiring from the assembly basis.

4. Turn out fixing screws and separate the fuel consumption sensor from a basic arm of assembly of a gasoline pump.

5. Installation is made upside-down. Do not forget to replace the sealing laying established under a landing flange of assembly.
