The Honda car will provide to the owner optimum characteristics and will show high operational qualities on roads with a good and equal covering. It is promoted by a small road gleam and low-profile tires.

For all modifications, except KY:

Operation of cars with engines 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 of l has to be made on unleaded gasoline with octane number not lower than 95 (on a research method - AI).

With the engine of 2.2 l it is necessary to apply unleaded fuel with octane number to gas station of cars not lower than 98 (AI). Situations when gasoline with the demanded octane number is absent at gas station are possible. In these cases it is possible to apply gasoline with octane number 95. The control system of the engine adapts it for the used gasoline, however some decrease in the developed power as a result of such replacement becomes inevitable.

Operation of the car on ethylated gasoline can lead to failure of the catalytic converter, the engine. It is worth to remember also about a factor of environmental pollution.

Control operations

Gas station of a fuel tank

Gasoline is flammable and explosive substance. Careless handling of gasoline can lead to burns or other serious injuries. Valve of an emergency shutdown of supply of fuel


Leak of gasoline can become the reason of ignition or explosion and to lead to severe injuries or death of the driver and passengers. Before turning on the fuel valve in a working condition, it is necessary to make sure of lack of traces of dribble of gasoline surely.

The fuel supply shutdown valve which is located behind the central console of the dashboard on the right is included in the package of some models. The valve is intended for ensuring fire safety at a road accident. At collision the valve automatically disconnects supply of fuel in the engine.

Start of the engine

At a negative temperature of air or if the car was not used within several days, let's the engine get warm within 3 - 4 minutes, only after it begin the movement.

Five-step manual box of gear shifting

At the movement on the road with a slippery covering the engine or excessively sharp dispersal can lead intensive braking to loss of control over the car and accidents as a result of which the people who are in the car can be seriously injured. Automatic transmission

On cars of the Honda brand the four-stage hydromechanical automatic transmission with the blocked hydrotransformer and an electronic and hydraulic control system is established. Provisions of the lever of the selector of ranges

In order to avoid breakage of AT transfer the lever to situation "P" only after a full stop of the car. Remark: Extraction of a key from the lock of ignition becomes possible only after the translation of the lever of the selector in situation "P".

Situation "R". Methods of management of the lever of the selector of ranges at its transfer to the situation "R" (Zadniykhod) from situation "P" are described above. (Neutral) make turning on of the lever in the situation "R" from the situation "N" only after a full stop of the car.

Automatic transmission is equipped with the special safety device which does not allow to move the lever to the provision of "R" if the speed of the car exceeds value of 10-12 km/h incidentally.

If the backing does not join after a full stop of the car, squeeze out a brake pedal and slowly move the lever of the selector of ranges at first to the situation "N", then to the situation "R".

At malfunction of the safety device, and also at the battery disconnected from an onboard network or discharged it is impossible to include backing range. In this case it is necessary to remove blocking of inclusion of range of a backing.

The situation "N", Use the situation "N" (Neutral) at start of the decayed engine on the run of the car and at short stops of the car with the working engine. If you for any reason need to depart from the car, previously transfer the lever of the selector of ranges to situation "P" (Parking). Situation "D4". In this situation the lever of the selector of ranges has to be constantly at the movement of the car in normal road conditions. In the range of "D4" (Movement) automatic gear shifting of the forward course depending on the speed of the car and extent of pressing an accelerator pedal is provided. During the movement of the car you can notice that automatic switchings on the highest transfers occurs later, that is at higher speeds of the movement if the engine of the car is not heated-up up to the normal working temperature yet. It provides faster warming up of the engine.

Mode of manual gear shifting. If the lever of the selector of ranges is in the situation "D4", there is a possibility of inclusion of the manual mode of gear shifting. In this mode of transfer switch by means of the same lever as it becomes on the models equipped with RKPP, but without use of a pedal of management of coupling. To include the manual mode of gear shifting, move the lever from the situation "D4" to the left (towards a driver's seat). The transmission comes back to automatic control mode at the return movement of the lever to the right (towards a passenger seat).

In the mode of manual gear shifting control of transmission is exercised consecutive pressing the lever forward or back. If to press the lever forward, there will be a switching of a transmission the inheriting highest step. When moving the lever of switching of ranges to the situation corresponding to manual control mode by a transmission on the dashboard the indicator of the transfer included at present lights up. For example, if the fourth transfer is included, on the right an otindikator of "D4" the figure "4" will be highlighted. At the subsequent gear shiftings in the manual mode of the indication of the indicator will change as appropriate. If to include manual control mode by a transmission on the standing car, the first transfer automatically will join, and in an indicator window the figure "1" will be highlighted.

The start of motion and dispersal of the car will occur on the first transfer, then it is necessary to include manually the second and the subsequent transfers. At manual control mode by a transmission it is necessary to watch on a tachometer that limit admissible turns of the engine were not exceeded. In the course of dispersal of the car in due time include adjacent highest transfers, without allowing calling of an arrow of a tachometer a red zone of a scale.

If the driver does not press the lever of the selector of ranges, the transmission will work at the same step (1, 2, 3 or 4th), without switchings. At full squeezing of a pedal of gas of switching of a transmission also do not occur.

In manual control mode by a transmission it is provided vozmozhnostyavtomatichesky switching of transmission with the fourth on the third peredachuv the following cases:

a) Speed of the car fell nizhe27 km/h.
b) The car moves uphill a soskorost from 27 to 60 km/h.
c) The pedal of a foot brake at the movement of the car under a bias is squeezed out.

Automatic switching of a transmission "down" on the third transfer provides increase of force of draft at the movement uphill, and also increases efficiency of braking of a dvigatelempra the movement of the car on abrupt descent.

Besides, in manual control mode the transmission automatically switches to the first step at delay and a stop of the car. This switching happens at reduction in the rate of the movement to 10 km/h.

In attempt of manual inclusion under way one of the lowest transfers on which turns of the engine there will be prevyshatpredelno an admissible value, this switching is automatically blocked.

If the car moves on the fourth transfer, and the command of the driver for inclusion of the third transfer is blocked, on an instrument guard the figure "3" razmignt a little, then the indicator "4" again lights up. Similarly, if the car moves on the third transfer, and the command of the driver for inclusion of the second transfer is blocked, on the dashboard some razindikator "2" blinks, and then the indicator "3" again lights up.

If in the course of a blinking of the indicator of the blocked transfer the speed of the car decreases so that after transfer switching the frequency of rotation of a shaft of the engine will not be able to exceed maximum permissible value, blocking is removed and in transmission there is an inclusion of an adjacent lowest step.

At a low temperature of air when temperature of transmission does not exceed -10 °C, the manual mode of switchings of a transmission can not work.

In Specifications the recommended speeds of switching of steps are specified in a transmission.

Situation "D3". If the lever of the selector of ranges is included in the provision of "D3", the automatic transmission functions similar to a case of inclusion of range of "D4" (Movement). Difference consists that transition to the fourth transfer is excluded. Range of "D3" is recommended to be used at towage of the trailer in the hilly district or for braking implementation by the engine on descent of the considerable steepness. Inclusion of range of "D3" is useful also for an exception of excess cyclic switchings of automatic transmission between the third and fourth transfers. Similar cyclic switchings of a transmission can be observed, for example, at the movement in a dense transport stream with frequent delays and stops of the car.

For sharp dispersal of the car during the work of a transmission in the range of "D4" or "D3" squeeze out a gas pedal against the stop.
Thus the transmission will automatically pass to adjacent lowest transfer. If the speed of the car is small, the transmission can switch at once to two steps down.

Situation "2". At inclusion of range "2" automatic transmission will constantly work at the second transfer. At a car stop the transmission does not pass to the first transfer. Continuous inclusion of the second transfer provides good traction dynamics of the car on rises and possibility of intensive braking with the engine on abrupt descents. Range "2" is recommended to be included at a start of motion on a slippery paving, and also at the movement on deep snow. It helps to prevent strong pro-slipping of driving wheels of the car.

At inclusion of range "2" on the run of the car inclusion of the second peredachiv transmissions automatically is late and happens only after the speed of the car decreases to the safe level at which the frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft of the engine will not exceed the most admissible value.

Situation "1". At inclusion of range "1" automatic transmission will constantly work at the first transfer. If inclusion of range "1" is made at a speed more than 50 km/h, transmission at first will switch to the second transfer. Inclusion of an intermediate step allows to exclude sharp and unexpected braking by the engine.
Maximum admissible speeds of the movement of the car

The maximum admissible speeds of the movement of the car at inclusion of various ranges of an automatic transmission are specified in Specifications. At excess the stipulated vspetsifikation of values, the arrow of a tachometer comes into a red zone of a scale, indicating excess of admissible turns of the engine. Thus the electronic block of a control system of the engine starts limiting turns of a cranked shaft, reducing fuel supply that it is possible to feel on change of power setting. Operation of the engine returns to normal as soon as the arrow of a tachometer leaves a red zone of a scale.

In order to avoid breakage of the engine before transfer switching, be convinced that the arrow of a tachometer does not come for value of the most admissible speed of the movement on this transfer and is not in a red zone of a scale.

Switching off of blocking of the lever of the selector of ranges


If it is not possible to bring the lever of the selector of ranges out of situation "P" by means of a standard practice (with simultaneous squeezing of a brake pedal), execute the following operations (similarly it is necessary to arrive and for removal of blocking of inclusion of range of a backing):
a) Cock the parking brake;
b) Check that ignition was switched off (the key has to be turned in situation "OFF" [0]). If it is required to remove blocking of inclusion of range of a backing, the ignition key has to be in the position "ASS" (I);
c) Cover with a fabric slice a cover which is located to the right of the directing cut of the lever and closes access to the blocking removal device, spomoshchyyu a small flat screw-driver (is absent in a set of the mobile tool) or other suitable tool carefully press edge and uncover;
d) Implant a screw-driver sting into a groove
e) Press from above a screw-driver and at the same time move the lever from situation "P" to the situation "N";.
f) To remove blocking of inclusion of range of a backing, move the lever from the situation "N" a vpolozheniye of "R", then - to situation "P";
