Removal and installation of heads of cylinders

Before getting to work, wait for final cooling of the engine.

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. Dump pressure in a power supply system and disconnect an electrical wiring from fuel injection injectors. Disconnect fuel pipes and remove fuel highways (see the Head of the Power supply system and release).
3. Empty the cooling system, including the engine block (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).
4. Remove the generator and the distributor of ignition (see the Head Elektrooborudovaniye of the engine).
5. Disconnect the grounding tire from the wall of the power unit turned to a gas-distributing belt.
6. Remove the steering pump (see the Head Podvesk and a steering) and, without disconnecting hoses, shift it aside.
7. Remove the top inlet pipeline (see the Section Removal and installation of the inlet pipeline).
8. Remove final collectors (see the Section Removal and installation of final collectors).
9. Throw off a gas-distributing belt and remove GRM drive cogwheels (see the Section Removal, check of a state and installation of a gas-distributing belt and cogwheels of the GRM drive).
10. Remove back covers of a gas-distributing belt (see the Section Removal, check of a state and installation of camshafts).
11. Separate assembly of channels of a cooling path.

12. Remove assemblies of yokes with axes (see the Section Removal, check of a state and installation of assembly of yokes).

13. A face key in stages (on 1/4 turns for approach) weaken bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders so that there was a possibility of a reversing their hands. Weakening of bolts has to be made as it should be, the return to an order of their tightening.

14. Remove a head of cylinders from the engine. If the head does not separate from the block, it is possible to use the lever which should be got between molding ledges (do not hook a head under the interfaced surface at all).

15. Working in the same order (see paragraphs with 12 on 14), remove the second head. Check planeness of both heads.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Carefully smooth out the interfaced surfaces of heads and the block of cylinders. Having scratched out the remains of material build laying and coal deposits, wipe surfaces the rags moistened in acetone. Existence on the interfaced surfaces of material of old laying at the time of installation of a head can lead to violation of tightness of landing of laying and, as a result, development of leaks. Processing the block, a zakuporta of an opening of cylinders rags in order to avoid hit in them small garbage and various foreign subjects (as a last resort, carefully vacuum cylinders).
2. Check the interfaced surfaces of heads and the block for existence of deep scratches, zadir and other damages. Easy defects can be eliminated by means of a fine-grained emery paper. In more serious cases the only alternative is the pro-point or replacement of components.
3. A tap of the suitable size banish carving otverstiyapod bolts of fastening of heads. Having finished pro-race, blow openings compressed air. Serially clamping bolts in a vice for a head, walk on their carving lerky, - existence in rounds of a carving of old sealant, dirt and products of corrosion results in discrepancy of real effort of a tightening of fixture to indications of the indicator of a dinamometrichesky key.

During the work with the reaped air do not forget to put on goggles!

4. Carefully clean jets of masloraspylitel, replace their sealing rings. Lay new sealing laying, putting on them on masloraspylitel and the directing pins in the block.
5. Trying not to displace laying, accurately put a head on the block.

6. Grease a carving and the lower surfaces of heads of fixing bolts with pure motive oil and screw fixture on the former places (do not forget to enclose special washers under heads. Tighten bolts by hand. Working in strictly certain order, in three steps tighten bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders with the demanded effort (see Specifications).

All stages of a tightening have to be duplicated twice, i.e., having tightened bolts with effort of the first stage, repeat procedure (tightening them with the same effort), only after it pass to the second stage of a tightening, etc.

7. Working in a similar manner, establish the second head of cylinders on the engine.
8. Installation of the remained components is made as it should be, the return to an order of their dismantle.
9. Do not forget to fill the cooling system and to replace an oil filter (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).
10. Start the engine and check correctness of installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance). Let's the engine work within about five minutes on small turns for the purpose of removal of air from assemblies of proofreaders of valvate gaps. Make sure of serviceability of functioning of the unit.

The first five minutes after primary start the valvate mechanism will work with the increased noise. If noise level then does not decrease, it can indicate defect of one of proofreaders of valvate gaps.
