1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. Establish transmission on neutral transfer (RKPP), or in situation "P" (AT), cock the parking brake and prop up antiretractable boots back wheels of the car.
3. Take off driving belts (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).
4. Remove the generator and the steering pump (see Chapters Electric equipment of the engine and the Suspension bracket and a steering respectively).
5. For the purpose of simplification of a provorachivaniye of a cranked shaft turn out spark plugs (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance), then bring the piston of the first cylinder into the provision VMT of the end of a step of compression (see the Section Reduction of the Piston of the First Cylinder in the provision of the top dead point (TDP)).
6. Release nuts of fastening of the right forward wheel. A car front also establish to Poddomkratta it on props. Remove the right forward wheel.
7. Remove the antispray screen of an arch of the right forward wheel (see the Head Kuzov).
8. Prop up the engine a jack, for distribution of loading having laid wooden whetstone between its head and the pallet of a case. Remove the antispray screen installed under a radiator (see the Head of the Cooling system, heating).
9. Give two bolts of fastening to the block of the engine of the right support of a suspension bracket of the power unit (remove also the holder of a plait of an electrical wiring), then turn out a through bolt and remove a support (see the Section Check of a State and Replacement of Support of a Suspension Bracket of the Power Unit). Remove a support arm. Take the probe of measurement of level of motive oil and pick up its directing phone.
10. Remove the top covers of a gas-distributing belt.

11. If the belt is not replaced, mark the original direction of its rotation - at assembly it has to be strictly observed.

12. Make sure of correctness of combination of adjusting tags.

13. Having blocked a cranked shaft from a provorachivaniye by means of a chain or tape key, weaken a bolt of fastening of its pulley. Having turned out a bolt, remove a pulley. In the course of weakening of a fixing bolt correctness of combination of adjusting tags on a pulley and cogwheels of a camshaft can be broken, - check. Temporarily screw to the place of shkivny a bolt, then by means of a face key correct as appropriate the provision of a cranked shaft.

14. Remove the lower cover of a gas-distributing belt.

15. Remove from a cogwheel of a cranked shaft directing a belt (try to remember its adjusting situation). Make sure of correctness of combination of adjusting tags of a cogwheel.

16. Turn out one of long clamping bolts of fastening of the battery and a file remove a small facet from an end face of its carving part. Having manually screwed a bolt in a ledge on molding of the block, rest it against the regulator of a tension of a gas-distributing belt. The bolt has to fix the regulator.

17. On six turns weaken a bolt of fastening of an intermediate roller, then take off a gas-distributing belt.

18. Now, in case of need, it is possible to start removal of defective cogwheels of camshafts. Need for removal of wheels arises also when replacing forward epiploons of camshafts. Take from pins of shaft of a spline that they were not lost at involuntary loss. Try not to allow rotations of camshafts!

19. If need for replacement of a forward epiploon of a cranked shaft or its cogwheel takes place, remove the last from a shaft pin. If the wheel does not give in to removal manually, hook it by means of couple of screw-drivers. Remove also internal directing a gas-distributing belt.

1. Estimate a condition of cogwheels, paying special attention to degree of wear and signs of mechanical damages of teeths. Check a gear gas-distributing belt for existence of signs of wear, damages and traces of oiling. Estimate an axial side play of camshafts (see the Section Removal, check of a state and installation of camshafts). Manually check freedom of rotation of a roller of a natyazhitel, then pull it here and there, checking for existence of a side play in the bearing. Replace defective components.
2. Check a condition of the water pump (see the Head of the Cooling system, heating).

It will be reasonable to make replacement of the pump regardless of its state.

1. Clear the surfaces located around laying of a gas-distributing belt of dirt and oil. Wipe acetone cogwheels.
2. If removed, establish into place the removed GRM drive cogwheels (do not forget to enclose in the grooves of a spline). Tighten fixing bolts with the demanded effort.
3. If removed, establish on the regular place on a pin of a cranked shaft directing a gas-distributing belt (a facet from a belt). Afterwards establish a cogwheel of a cranked shaft.
4. Check correctness of combination of adjusting tags. Establish into place a gas-distributing belt, - begin with putting on of a belt on a cogwheel of a cranked shaft and a roller of a natyazhitel, then, moving clockwise, pass to wheels of a back camshaft, the water pump, forward tore and, at last, pull a belt on an intermediate roller. If the old belt is established, the original direction of its rotation has to be without fail observed.

If there was a vydviganiye of the piston of a natyazhitel and the belt does not manage to be pulled on an intermediate roller, remove a natyazhitel and wring out the piston manually.

5. Establish from above on a cogwheel of a cranked shaft external directing a gas-distributing belt a facet outside.

6. Tighten a bolt of fastening of an intermediate roller with the demanded effort. Turn out the holding natyazhitel long clamping a bolt of fastening of the battery.

7. Slowly six times turn a cranked shaft for a pulley bolt clockwise for the purpose of shrinkage of a belt with return of the engine to situation VMT. Make sure of correctness of combination of adjusting tags of all shaft.

At emergence of the slightest resistance the provorachivaniye of a shaft should be suspended, returned it to a starting position and once again to make sure of correctness of combination of tags. Do not try to overcome resistance by force at all!

8. Establish a place the lower cover of a gas-distributing belt.
9. Establish into place a pulley of a cranked shaft (track combination of a groove in its nave with the spline enclosed in a shaft pin). Screw a fixing bolt and tighten it with the demanded effort, having blocked a pulley from a provorachivaniye by means of a chain or tape key.
10. Again make sure of correctness of combination of all adjusting tags.

At the slightest violation of correctness of combination of tags repeat procedure of installation of a gas-distributing belt. Negligence to implementation of this requirement can lead to the most sad consequences connected with performance of serious repair of the engine!

11. Installation of the remained components should be made as it should be, the return to an order of their removal.

1. Need for removal or adjustment of a natyazhitel when replacing a gas-distributing belt usually is absent (if there was no its piston vydvigany). Removal of the water pump demands obligatory dismantle of a natyazhitel of a belt. At removal of a natyazhitel there is an inevitable promotion of its piston. Need for performance of the procedures described below arises only at removal of a natyazhitel.
2. To remove a natyazhitel, turn out the long bolt fixing him, then otboltit assembly of a natyazhitel from the block of cylinders.

3. Clamp a natyazhitel for a flange (at all not for the case) in a vice so that it was developed by a service bolt up. Turn out a service bolt. Pass a screw-driver with a long sting which start rotating the piston throughout the opened service opening until it does not return to the extreme situation. Try not to incline a natyazhitel not to allow an effluence of oil from her. In case of need, add necessary amount of fresh oil in assembly. The full working volume of a natyazhitel makes 6.6 ml. 4. At car repair shops fixing of the piston of a natyazhitel in the drowned situation is made by means of the special adaptation. In the absence of near at hand suitable tool, blocking of the piston can be made by means of adjustable nippers. At the same time the assistant has to fit the assembly case a strong nylon tape.

The tape fixing the piston needs to be got between sponges of nippers and a face surface of the piston before the last is drowned, - procedure rather thin and can execute it from the first attempt only very skilled mechanic.

5. Screw into place a service bolt. Establish a natyazhitel on a regular place, having tracked that the nylon tape fixing the piston did not come off. Screw fixing bolts and tighten them with the demanded effort. Having finished installation of a gas-distributing belt, have a bite a tape of a bokorezama and extend it nippers.
