Removal, check of a state and installation of the oil pump

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Take off a gas-distributing belt, a cogwheel of a cranked shaft and an intermediate roller (see the Section Removal, check of a state and installation of a gas-distributing belt and cogwheels of the GRM drive).

Leave the suspension bracket of the power unit connected a support since the end of the engine turned to a gas-distributing belt.

2. Remove the sensor of provision of a cranked shaft (SKR).

3. Remove the engine case pallet (see the Section Removal and installation of the pallet of a case of the engine) and the mesh filter of a maslozabornik. At the corresponding complete set remove the sensor of level of motive oil.

4. Remove assembly of a nozzle of an oil filter with the electromagnetic valve of blocking of VTEC (ahead of the oil pump) (see the Section VTEC System - the general information and check of a condition of components).

5. Turn out fixing bolts and separate a casing of the oil pump from the engine. Perhaps, it is necessary to enter the lever between a cover of the radical bearing and a casing of the pump.
Check of an axial side play of gear wheels is made by means of the measuring instrument of planeness of the probe of lezviyny type.

CHECK

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. By means of a big screw-driver with the crosswise hall turn out screws of fastening of a cover to back part of a casing of the pump.

2. Uncover and attentively check a condition of gear wheels of the pump. In case of identification of signs of wear or mechanical damages replace the pump. Perform measurement of working gaps of the pump, compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications.

3. Scratch out all traces of old sealant from the interfaced surfaces of the pump and block of the engine (act carefully, - try not to damage surfaces of the components made of a soft aluminum alloy).

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Replace an epiploon of a cranked shaft (see the Section Replacement of a Forward Epiploon of a Cranked Shaft).

Before installation of a sponge of a new epiploon it is necessary to grease with universal greasing.

2. Fill technical vaseline internal cavities of the pump. Establish a cover, grease with sealant a carving of fixing screws, screw them and tighten in a diagonal order with the demanded effort.
3. Carefully wipe the rags moistened in acetone all pro-masonry surfaces, having completely removed all traces of oil about a bottom.
4. Slightly grease with anaerobic sealant the pump housing surface, and also carving part of fixing bolts interfaced to the block. Be not overzealous, - track that sealant did not block a maslotoka and did not get to deaf carving openings. Assembly of components has to be made within five minutes after putting sealant, otherwise procedure should be repeated. Do not forget to replace sealing rings.
5. Having tracked that lysk of the leading gear wheel of the pump entered gearing with reciprocal lyska on a pin of a cranked shaft, install the pump on the regular place.
6. Screw fixing bolts and tighten them in a diagonal order with the demanded effort.
7. Having replaced a sealing ring, establish into place a maslozabornik and tighten his fixture with the demanded effort.
8. Installation of the remained components is made as it should be, the return to an order of their dismantle.
9. Wait about 20 minutes, having allowed to stiffen sealant, then fill in fresh engine oil, start the engine and check it for existence of leaks. Measure pressure of motive oil.
10. Check the level of motive oil.
