 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Driving, or as they are called sometimes, V-shaped belts are located in forward part of the power unit and play an important role in functioning of the engine and many other systems of the car. Eventually belts wear out and have to look round regularly according to the schedule of routine maintenance of the car in order to avoid serious engine failures which correction of consequences can become the owner of the car in kopek.

Treat family of V-shaped belts as well the multicostal.

2. The quantity of the driving belts used on the engine depends on a car complete set. Belts are applied to the drive of such auxiliary units, as the generator, steering and water pumps, the air conditioner compressor, etc. Depending on the scheme of an arrangement of pulleys, can be put by one belt in action more than one unit.

3. Kill the engine, open a cowl and find driving belts in forward part of the power unit. Highlighting itself a small lamp, fingers feel belts on all their length, checking for existence of cracks and stratifications. Also presence on a belt of attritions, zapolirovanny to gloss of sites and other obvious defects is inadmissible. Examine belts from both parties for what overwind them.

4. Check of effort of a tension of a belt is made by a nazhimaniye on it by a hand thumb on a site in the middle between two next pulleys. Pressing has to be rather firm. The parameter characterizing effort of a tension of a belt is the size of its deflection at a nazhimaniye. As a rule, if pulleys defend from each other at distance from 180 to 280 mm, the size of a deflection has to make 6.4 mm, to distance between pulleys in 305 ÷ 405 mm there corresponds the deflection in 12.5 mm - for a wedge-shaped belt, and 6.4 mm - for multicostal.

5. On the models equipped with V6 engines a belt of the drive of the generator/compressor of the conditioner of air it is equipped by an automatic natyazhitel, thus, possibility of correction of effort of its tension is not provided. The indicator of degree of wear of a belt is a part of an automatic natyazhitel (in size of its stretching).

ADJUSTMENT

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. On the V6 models the belt of the drive of the generator/compressor of the conditioner of air is equipped by an automatic natyazhitel. Correction of effort of a tension of all other belts is made manually by shift in the relevant party of the units given by them.

2. For correction of a tension of a generating belt on 4-cylinder models and a belt of the drive of the steering pump on the V6 models weaken bolts of fastening of the corresponding units and rotate in the demanded party an adjusting bolt (clockwise for pulling up of a belt, counterclockwise - for the purpose of its easing).

3. The belt of the drive of the steering pump on 4-cylinder models is regulated by an otpuskaniye of fixing bolts and shift of the unit by means of a collar for the drive of face keys with a square nozzle on half-inch.

4. Having finished adjustment, make sure of correctness of a tension of belts. In case of need repeat adjustment procedure.

REPLACEMENT

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. On the V6 models throw with a long key of the corresponding size the central bolt of a pulley of a natyazhitel and, having turned a natyazhitel counterclockwise, take off a generating belt. On all other models for removal of a generating belt from the pulleys weaken effort of its tension according to the instructions stated above. It makes sense to make at the same time replacement at once all driving belts. Before finally taking off a belt from the car, mark the direction of its rotation of a belt and the scheme of laying in streams of pulleys.
2. Upon purchase of new belts take with yourself old as samples - replaceable belts have to correspond strictly removed from the car on a standard size.
3. Upon completion of replacement adjust a tension of new belts.
