Check and adjustment of turns of idling

(each 48 000 km [30 000 miles] of run or time in 24 months)

CHECK

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Frequency of rotation of the engine at the released gas pedal is called as turns of idling. This parameter is among critical, defining both operation of the engine in general, and serviceability of functioning of its various subsystems.
2. Cock the parking brake and prop up wheels antiretractable boots. Make sure that transmission is transferred to neutral transfer (RKPP) or established in situation "P" or "N" (AT).
3. According to instructions of manufacturers connect a manual tachometer.

4. Disconnect the 2-contact electric socket from the electromagnetic valve of a purge of a coal adsorber of EVAP system (see an accompanying illustration).

5. Start the engine and with a frequency of rotation of 3000 rpm warm up it up to the normal working temperature.
6. As soon as there is a turning on of the fan of the cooling system, slowly dump engine turns to the single. Make sure that all accessories are disconnected, and transmission is transferred to neutral transfer (RKPP), or in situation "P" / to" N" (AT).
7. Consider the indication of a tachometer and compare it to the value given on VECI label or in Specifications to the present Chapter.

In case of different interpretations the preference has to be given to information provided on VECI label.

ADJUSTMENT

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Before starting adjustment, make sure that the fan of the cooling system is switched off.

2. If turns of idling exceed the limit of admissible range, take a cap (see an accompanying illustration) and make necessary adjustment, rotating the adjusting screw a screw-driver in the respective direction. Make rotation of the screw short steps (on 1/4 turns for approach), every time checking new turns of the engine.

3. Kill the engine and disconnect a tachometer. Restore initial connection of the electromagnetic EVAP valve.
