Removal, check of a state and installation of cogwheels and belt of the drive of balancing shaft

At the increase of a noise background connected with functioning of a belt of the drive of balancing shaft first of all it is always necessary to make adjustment of its tension. This procedure can be made without removal of covers of the GRM drive. Correction of effort of a tension of the considered belt is made by a natyazhitel of a gas-distributing belt.

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Bring the piston of the right cylinder into the provision VMT of the end of a step of compression (see the Section Reduction of the Piston of the First Cylinder in the provision of the top dead point (TDP)). Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. Take off a belt of the drive of the steering pump. Disconnect the pump from a basic arm (see the Head Podvesk and a steering) and displace it aside.
3. Remove from a cover of a gas-distributing belt the generator with arms (see the Head Elektrooborudovaniye of the engine).
4. The car also establish to Poddomkratta it on props. Remove protection of a case (see the Head Kuzov) and a cover in an arch of the left wheel.

5. Holding a pulley of a cranked shaft from a provorachivaniye a chain key, give a bolt of its fastening. Remove a pulley, having in case of need used a stripper.

6. Prop up the power unit a jack, for distribution of loading having laid wooden whetstone between a head of the last and the pallet of a case. Remove a pillow of the left support of the power unit with the arm (see the Section Check of a State and Replacement of Support of a Suspension Bracket of the Power Unit).
7. Remove the probe of measurement of level of engine oil and its directing tube from the engine block.
8. Turn out bolts of fastening of covers of a gas-distributing belt to the block. Make for yourself the scheme explaining an order of an arrangement of fixture, various on length, which at assembly has to be rolled strictly in former openings.

9. Uncover top and lower a GRM drive belt.
10. Enter into a special opening in a back wall of the block of the engine a bolt or a prutkovy key of 6 x100 of mm in size (the opening is muffled by a bolt which should be turned out previously), which will block a back balancing shaft from a provorachivaniye in the course of removal of a driving belt.

The bolt/key should not be entered into an opening more deeply than on 74 mm (put the corresponding tag)!

11. Temporarily screw one of bolts of fastening of a cover of a gas-distributing belt in an opening of the left part of the lever of the regulator of a tension of a gas-distributing belt, tighten a bolt for the purpose of blocking of the regulator during weakening of a nut of a natyazhitel. Weaken a nut of a natyazhitel and wring out his roller from a belt of the drive of balancing shaft, having weakened thereby a tension of the last. Take off a belt.

If the belt is not replaced, mark its initial direction of rotation which has to be surely observed at installation.

12. If cogwheels of balancing shaft (forward and back) are damaged, turn out bolts of their fastening. Blocking of a back shaft is already provided due to introduction of a suitable bolt / core to an access opening from the back party of the block of the engine, fixing of a forward shaft can be carried out by threading in a service opening in its end face (directly under a cogwheel) a suitable screw-driver. Also remove a cogwheel of a cranked shaft.

The back balancing shaft is equipped with a set of gear wheels which situation before removal is necessary accurately having marked in order to avoid mistakes at assembly.

CHECK

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Carefully check a driving belt and cogwheels of balancing shaft for existence of signs of wear, cracks and other mechanical damages. Replace defective components.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Estimate a condition of a forward epiploon of a cranked shaft, in case of need make its replacement (see the Section Replacement of a Forward Epiploon of a Cranked Shaft). Put on a cogwheel a forward pin of a cranked shaft, - track combination of a landing spline on a pin with a shponochny groove in a wheel nave.

2. Before installation of a belt of the drive of balancing shaft and its cogwheels make sure of correctness of installation of a gas-distributing belt (see the Section Removal, check of a state and installation of a gas-distributing belt and cogwheels of the GRM drive). Make sure also that the piston of the first cylinder remains in the provision VMT of the end of the step of compression (see the Section Reduction of the Piston of the First Cylinder in the provision of the top dead point (TDP)). Both balancing shaft and the oil pump have to be on the regular places, and the back shaft - is blocked by the bolt entered into an access opening / prutkovym a key. Take away a natyazhitel of a driving belt and record it in new situation, working in the order described in paragraph 11.

3. If removed, put the cogwheels on balancing shaft. Make sure of correctness of combination of both sets of adjusting tags of a forward balancing shaft. Correctness of installation of a back balancing shaft is guaranteed automatically in view of existence of the directing pin (or a bolt) entering a special service opening. Throw with a driving belt cogwheels.

4. Once again make sure of correctness of provision of adjusting tags, then screw bolts of fastening of cogwheels and tighten them with the demanded effort.

5. Now it is possible to pass to adjustment of a tension of a belt. Make sure that the adjusting nut of a natyazhitel is released, then turn a cranked shaft so that the cogwheel of a camshaft was developed approximately on three teeth, - thus the weak point of both belts has to get out completely. Tighten a nut of a natyazhitel with the demanded effort.

For check of correctness of a tension of a belt firmly pressure him a thumb near a camshaft cogwheel, - the belt has to be densely tense from both parties of a wheel.
There is a possibility of adjustment of a tension of a gas-distributing belt and belt of the drive of balancing shaft without removal of covers of the GRM drive. However, it is more reasonable to uncover nevertheless to have possibility of check of correctness of combination of adjusting tags.

6. If it was made removal/replacement only of a belt of the drive of balancing shaft, turn out the bolt used for fixing of the regulator. Establish to the place of a cover of a gas-distributing belt and tighten fixing bolts with the demanded effort. Track that edges of sealing laying did not stick out from under edges on joints of forward covers.

7. At installation of a pulley of a cranked shaft do not forget to grease a carving and the lower surface of a head of a bolt of its fastening. Screw a bolt and tighten it with the demanded effort.
