Removal and check of a condition of balancing shaft (4-cylinder engines)

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Pass a long bolt 6 x 100 mm (or a long screw-driver of suitable diameter) throughout a special opening in a pin of a forward balancing shaft and, holding by means of it a shaft from a provorachivaniye, give a bolt of fastening of a cogwheel.

2. Remove a casing of a gear wheel of a back balancing shaft.
3. For blocking of a back balancing shaft pass a bolt or a screw-driver throughout an access opening (previously take a stopper) in a back wall of the block of cylinders. Otboltite casing of a gear wheel of a back shaft. Now otboltit and remove a gear wheel of its drive from a shaft.

Put on a bolt a tag at distance of 74 mm from a face cut. The bolt should not be entered into the block more deeply than to this tag.

4. Remove a casing of the oil pump.

5. Turn out two fixing bolts and remove a persistent plate of a forward balancing shaft. Accurately take shaft from the block, - try not to damage bearing surfaces.

CHECK

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Carefully wipe shaft and attentively examine their necks on existence of zadir, scratches, signs of excessive wear and traces of an overheat. Usually wear of necks is shown in emergence of sites, zapolirovanny to mirror gloss.
2. By means of a micrometer measure diameters of forward and back edges of each of necks. The difference between results of measurements corresponds to the size of the conicity taking place. If conicity exceeds value, admissible on spices, the shaft is subject to replacement.
3. Serially lay each of shaft a shaft in V-shaped blocks and fix the dial measuring instrument (DTI) in a perpendicular axis of a shaft of the plane so that its plunger concerned a surface of an average neck. Rotating a shaft in blocks determine the size of its beating. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications, excessively curved shaft are subject to replacement.
4. Measure diameters of necks of a shaft, and also internal diameters of the corresponding bearings. Determine by way of subtraction of results of the first measurements from results of the second the size of a gap of landing of a shaft in bearings. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications. If results of measurements exceed the limit of admissible range, and shaft are in a satisfactory condition, deliver the block a workshop of car service for the purpose of performance of replacement of bearings.
