Removal and installation of the engine

It is worth to remember that gasoline is flammable liquid in the highest measure! During the work with components of a power supply system observe all taken measures of fire safety. Do not smoke, do not come nearer to a venue of works with naked flame or the carrying unprotected by the lamp shade. Do not make service of system in the room equipped with the heating devices working at natural gas and equipped with a control torch (such as vodogre and dryers for clothes). Do not forget that gasoline is among the cancerogenic substances promoting development of a cancer. Try not to allow hits of fuel on open sites of a body, - use protective rubber gloves, at casual unforeseen contact carefully wash out hands warm water with soap. Immediately collect the spilled fuel and do not put the rags impregnated with fuels and lubricants near sources of naked flame. Remember that the power supply system of the models equipped with injection of fuel constantly is under pressure. Before starting a detachment of fuel lines, dump residual pressure in system. At service of components of a power supply system put on goggles. Constantly hold near at hand the class B fire extinguisher!


The path of the air conditioning system also constantly is under pressure, and therefore before a rassoyedineniye of refrigerator lines it is necessary to make a discharge of system in the conditions of a specialized workshop.

Cars of the considered model are equipped with SRS system which main component are safety cushions. Before starting performance of any works near an arrangement of sensors of the directed SRS overloads, around a steering column or the dashboard, without fail disconnect system in order to avoid the casual operation of safety cushions fraught with receiving serious injuries.

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Authors of the present manual recommend to make removal of the engine assembled with transmission. Assembly of the unit falls down and is taken from under the car in view of what it is necessary to take care of ways of reliable fixing of the vehicle in the lifted situation.

1. Dump pressure in a power supply system and remove assembly of the air cleaner with air sleeves (see the Head of the Power supply system and release).

2. Disconnect from the battery at first a negative wire, then positive.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

Disconnect battery wires from the assembly block of safety locks/relay located in a motive compartment. Having disconnected an electrical wiring from the assembly block, turn out fixing bolts and remove a rasporny bar of support of racks of a suspension bracket. On the V6 models remove the battery, its basis and an assembly bracket.

3. Cover wings and an airreflector under a car windshield special protective covers, or simply old blankets. Remove a cowl (see the Head Kuzov).
4. Remove the generator, the distributor of ignition and VV candle wires (see the Head Elektrooborudovaniye of the engine).
5. Remove an oil filter, empty the cooling system, merge motive and transmission oil and take off driving belts (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).

6. Accurately mark and disconnect all vacuum lines, hoses of system of decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases, sockets of an electrical wiring, the tire of grounding and fuel pipes from the engine. It is best of all to make marking of an electrical wiring, lines and hoses by means of an adhesive tape. It will also be useful to make the scheme of laying of communications, or to execute a series of pictures.

The electrical wiring detachment order from RSM is described in the Head Engine management.

7. Remove the fan(s) of the cooling system and a radiator (see the Head of the Cooling system, heating).
8. Having uncovered a jellied mouth, dump residual pressure in a fuel tank, then give the fuel pipes going from the engine to the chassis (see the Head of the Power supply system and release). At once to a zakuporta all open tubes and nipple knots.
9. Disconnect from the engine draft of an accelerator, and at the corresponding complete set of the car, also driving cable of a tempostat (see the Head of the Power supply system and release).
10. Otboltite the steering pump also shift it aside, without disconnecting hydraulic lines (see the Head Podvesk and a steering). Track that the pump was fixed strictly vertically, in case of need remove it absolutely.
11. Remove the lower antispray screens. On the models equipped with the air conditioning system (To/in), otboltit and shift the compressor aside, - do not disunite refrigerator lines (see the Head of the Cooling system, heating).

Reliably fix the removed compressor a wire, without allowing it to hang on hoses.

12. Disconnect an electrical wiring from oxygen sensors. Separate a reception pipe of system of production of the fulfilled gases from a final collector(s) (see the Head of the Power supply system and release) and a flange of the catalytic converter and take it from under the car.
13. Remove power shafts (see the Head Stsepleniye and power shafts). Disconnect from transmission an electrical wiring and cables of the drive of switching of transfers/speedometer (or the VSS sensor) (see the Head Korobk of gear shifting). On models with RKPP remove from a transmission the executive cylinder of the drive of coupling (see the Head Stsepleniye and power shafts). On models with AT disconnect from a case of transmission of the line of cooling of ATF (see the Head Korobk of gear shifting).

14. Connect lifting slings to lifting eyes of the power unit. Lift the car over the earth, having released from below sufficient space for extraction of the unit. Get winches/beams of the And-shaped frame into position (on a vertical axis of a motive compartment). Choose a weak point of slings, having achieved their weak tension.

15. Make sure that anything else does not connect the power unit to the car. In case of need, disconnect the forgotten lines of communication, previously having accurately marked them.
16. Turn out fixture of support of a suspension bracket of the power unit. Mark with paint the provision of a stretcher concerning the chassis, then give fixing bolts, lower a stretcher and take it from under the car (see the Head Korobk of gear shifting).
17. Slowly lower assembly of the power unit by some centimeters and once again make sure that no lines of communication remained are connected. Continue lowering of the unit until it does not lay down on a floor, or a cargo platform of a cart jack. Take assembly of the power unit from under the car.
18. On models with AT turn out bolts of fastening of the converter of rotation to a driving disk. Give bolts of fastening of the engine to transmission and dismember assembly.
19. Remove a flywheel / a driving disk and install the engine on the assembly stand.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check a condition of support of a suspension bracket of the power unit. Replace defective components.

The description of procedures of check of serviceability of functioning of system of active correction of hydraulic support see in appropriate sections of the present Chapter.

2. On models with RKPP check a condition of components of coupling (it will be correct to replace all assembly) (see the Head Stsepleniye and power shafts) and grease with high-temperature greasing the directing bearing. Establish on the engine a flywheel and components of assembly of coupling (see the Head Stsepleniye and power shafts).
3. On models with AT check a condition of epiploons and plugs of the converter of rotation, slightly grease with dense greasing a nose of the converter and a sponge of epiploons. Establish a driving disk.
4. Accurately connect transmission to the engine, screw and tighten with the demanded effort fixing bolts (see the Head Korobk of gear shifting). On models with AT screw and tighten bolts of fastening of the converter of rotation.
5. Raise the car over the earth on sufficient height and start under it assembly of the power unit. Move into position winches/beams of the And-shaped frame and connect lifting slings to lifting eyes of engine/transmission, previously having passed them through an aperture of a motive compartment.
6. Lift assembly of the power unit in regular situation and establish arms of support of its suspension bracket. Bring rubber pillows to support and acquire through bolts / nuts of hairpins of their fastening.
7. Establish a stretcher, having leveled it the chassis according to the landing tags put in the course of dismantle is relative. Wrap fixture and tighten it with the demanded effort (see Specifications to the Head Korobka of gear shifting).
8. Finally tighten through bolts / nuts of hairpins of fastening of pillows of support.

Non-compliance with the demanded efforts of a tightening of fixture of support of a suspension bracket of the power unit leads to development of the increased vibrations during the operation of the engine.

9. Disconnect lifting slings from lifting eyes.
10. Working as it should be, the return to a dismantle order, establish into place the remained components.
11. Add cooling liquid and engine oil in the engine, fill transmission (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).
12. Start the engine and check it for serviceability of functioning and existence of signs of leaks. Switch off ignition and check levels of working liquids. Establish into place a cowl. Make trial runs of the car. On the models equipped To/in make evacuation and charging of central air in the conditions of a specialized workshop.
