Removal and PCM/ECM installation

The models of cars considered in the present manual are equipped with system of additional safety (SRS). Before starting performance of any works near the block of a safety cushion, a steering column or the dashboard, disconnect SRS in order to avoid receiving injuries at its casual operation (see the Head Onboard electric equipment). It is easy to distinguish an electrical wiring of a chain of SRS on yellow color of isolation.

In order to avoid damage of RSM by the electrostatic category, try not to touch contact plugs of the module. Whenever possible make self-grounding. RSM is among components of anticreeping system and provides an engine immobilization. When replacing RSM the new module before start of the engine needs to be programmed in the conditions of a workshop of car service. Performance actually, strictly speaking, will be also more correct to be charged replacements of RSM to experts.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The module of management of RSM is in salon of the car under the dashboard, near assembly of the central console.
2. Disconnect SRS (see the Head Onboard electric equipment).

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that have the correct combination for introduction of the equipment to action!

3. Turn off a carpet from the lower part of the central console in driver's and passenger foot wells (see the Head Kuzov), easy access to assembly of RSM has to open.

4. Disunite the RSM electric sockets.

In order to avoid damage of the processor ignition at shutdown/connection of an electrical wiring has to be switched off (a key in the situation OFF).

5. Turn out bolts of fastening of a basic arm of RSM.

6. Carefully remove RSM.

In order to avoid damage of RSM by static electricity, try not to touch contact plugs of the module. Whenever possible make self-grounding. Apply special electrostatic laying to storage of the module (ask in shops of automobile accessories).

7. Installation is made upside-down.

When replacing the module it is necessary to enter into it a code of system of an immobilization of the engine in the conditions of a workshop of car service.
