Check of serviceability of a state and replacement of the sensor of absolute pressure in the pipeline (MAR)

CHECK

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The MAR sensor traces the depression depth variations in the inlet pipeline connected with changes of turns of a cranked shaft and current load of the engine and will transform the received information to an amplitude signal. RSM uses information arriving from the MAR sensor at correction of installations of a corner of an advancing of ignition. Amplitude of the signal developed by the sensor can change ranging from 1.0 ÷ 1.5 In at completely closed butterfly valve (deep depression) to 4.0 ÷ 4.5 In at completely open gate (weak depression) and can vary slightly depending on car height above sea level. The MAR sensor is fixed on the throttle case, its refusals lead to record in memory of system of self-diagnostics of a code of malfunction of P0107 or P0108.

2. Measure the size of the basic tension given on the sensor from RSM. Disunite the socket of an electrical wiring and connect the voltmeter between REF plugs (+) and GND (-) of the socket. At the included ignition the device has to register the indication about 5.0 V. Otsutstviye of a basic signal speaks about break in a chain of RSM or about failure actually of the module.

3. Check the alarm tension of the sensor at the killed engine connect the voltmeter between SIG plugs (+) and GND (-) of the sensor socket. At the included ignition amplitude of a signal has to lie within the range of 2.5 ÷ 3.5 Century.
4. Now it is necessary to check serviceability of functioning of the sensor at the working power unit. Start the engine and observe behind indications of the voltmeter in process of increase in turns of the engine from the single. Amplitude of a signal has to increase on decrease in depth of depression. On single turns depth of depression is maximum and alarm tension should not rise higher than 0.5 ÷ 1.5 V. in process of increase in turns depth of depression falls that has to conduct to decrease in amplitude of the measured signal.

Change of depth of depression in the inlet pipeline can be tracked by means of the vacuum gage. At completely open gate pressure in the pipeline can be compared to the atmospheric. 5. At negative results of check replace the sensor.

REPLACEMENT

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the MAR sensor.

3. Turn out fixing screws and remove the sensor from the throttle case.

4. Installation is made upside-down.
